Below are a few examples of my recent web projects I have undertaken whilst working for pulse8. I would describe my style as clean, clear and communication led.

Grayshott Pottery
Sector: Shopping/Industry
Grayshott Pottery are based in Surrey and also own the local Dartington Pottery. The pottery in Surrey consists of the pottery, a gift shop and a cafe, visitors can tour the pottery and see the processes involved.
As well as overhauling the website pulse8 took the opportunity to refresh the entire image catalogue. I sourced local photographer Tim Pestridge and embarked on a comprehensive three day shoot covering all aspects of Grayshott Pottery.
The site now has a fresh, friendly feel and showcases the different elements of Grayshott. A grid structure is loosely used but I wanted to break away from a conventional design and reflect the creativity I experienced when visiting the pottery.
I am currently working on an e-commerce area where the potteries studio ceramic art will be available to buy online.

Totnes Information Centre
Sector: Tourist/Local Information Resource
Hot on the heels of a new design for the Town Guide the new site had to be fresh and exciting but also contain an immense amount of accessible information for locals and visitors alike. The new website has been built with Search Engines in mind and is optimized to be as effective as possible in the natural listings.
The site has been split into 3 areas, Discover Totnes (attractions, accommodation, eating out etc), About Totnes (the history, location, surrounding area etc) and Shops & Services. All information on the site is managed by the team at the Information Centre via a bespoke admin area built by pulse8.

Timpson
Sector: E-Commerce and Services
The new site features an interactive 'Personalised Gifts' section where the end user can preview their engraving in real time on products ranging from, Zippo Lighters , House Signs and Trophies through to the extensive Shoe Care range.
In addition to the vast product range available, the new website provides a quick and easy route to find your nearest Timpson, with full contact information and the range of services available at each high street store.
Much fun was had putting the interactive 'Magic Dust' animation together. Timpson supplied the vector illustrations and I stripped them out and put them through Flash to bring them all to life. Lots of fun and a great end result. Check out the Magic Dust...

Lang & Potter
Sector: Manufacturing
The new Lang & Potter website is split into four main sections, Marine, Interiors, Flooring and Heavy Textiles and is highly image led, conveying the wide range of services that the company has to offer.
As well as highlighting their services, the site provides an insight into the company and contains content managed areas, such as vacancies, that Lang & Potter can amend in-house whenever necessary.

Safari & Beach
Sector: Leisure & Tourism
Safari & Beach specialise in creating unique experiences for a whole range of customers with varied requirements, budgets and tastes. Experts in their field, Safari & Beach cover a large area of Africa including stunning locations like Zanzibar, Killimanjaro and the Serengeti.
I created a clean and crisp brand, a feel which extends through the website design. The website’s ease of use belies the incredible depth of information available. Visitors to the site can choose their country of interest, discover the regions within that country and learn about the accommodation options, which include an image gallery, a write up and facilities ratings including user feedback and ratings from previous visitors. Other facilities include a blog, special offers, the Safari & Beach top 10 and a wish list facility.

Happy Camping
Sector: E-Commerce
The Happy Camping shop is a spin off from the O'Connors Campers people. Lots of people hire a VW Camper for the weekend and full in love with everything VW.
My first task on this project was to tackle the branding, something quirky and fun and with a connection to O'Connors Campers. Complete with sing song bird, all it needs now is a bit of love to bring it to life - watch this space.
I'm sure you're thinking "looks a lot like the Happy Egg Co. branding". Well, the Happy Camping brand was tweeting way before the Happy Egg was hatched!.
The e-commerce site is straight forward, no messing but lots of fun. pulse8 commissioned a photographer for the product shots making the whole experience come together nicely.

Sector: Web Design, Development & Hosting
A very tough job. As we designers know, designing either your own or your companies website takes forever as paid work comes first.
As a web design company we needed to push things forward and make a statement. We needed a site that we could update easily keeping things fresh, embrace new technologies and trends and of course showcase our work.
Over a year in production (lots of late nights and head scratching...) we finally launched the all new p8 site in winter 2008. Our clients seem to like it and it's still pulling in new clients so all turned out nice again.
I'm still happy with the site but feel it needs some attention to improve the homepage. Personally, I think too many news and twitter elements have sneaked in making the page way too long. But hey ho.

The Kingston Estate
Sector: Luxury Accommodation
A lovely job to work on and I feel priveledged to say "I made that".
The Kingston Estate is steeped in history and now I have played a small part in hopefully keeping the accommodation and conference business running and looking after it.
pulse8 office is located on the Kingston Estate in one of it's off buildings. So, we were on-hand and on-site to steer Mr and Mrs Corfield to an effective website.
The new website features a fully functional online booking system for both the Five Star Self Catering Cottages and the Five Star Period Suites. Such is the beauty of the Estate and its surroundings, I placed a lot of emphasis on the strong use of imagery throughout to really give the website visitor a feel for the period features and overall quality of the location and facilities.
Being on-site and available to take advantage of breaks in the weather, I was asked to shoot the period suites, cottage interiors / exteriors as well as the facilities

Slumber Roo
Sector: E-commerce
Slumber-Roo is a well-established and respected virtual business specialising in baby carriers and associated accessories. Some of the brands sold include Moby Wrap, Scootababy and Beco Baby Carrier and Slumber-Roo are the main UK distributor for several brands.
Slumber Roo approached pulse8 in 2009 following a recommendation. Not only where they looking for a re-design of their existing site to better meet their needs. They we also looking for an agency with which they could build a strong working relationship.
I have re-branded Slumber Roo to better reflect their unrivalled position in the marketplace. The new logo is clean, contemporary and memorable which speaks volumes about the business and it's products and ethos. Once the logo was finalised it was applied to the brand new website and assorted marketing materials.
As well as including a fully functional and flexible e-commerce element, the new website also carries a wealth of information regarding baby carriers and how to choose the right one for you.
